ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Hello! My name is Terra Koop and welcome to my site! I am an artist. I have been an artist my entire life..or so my heart tells me so. Smile. My creative journey through life has allowed me to experience many different forms of art such as sculpting, painting, drawing, sewing, writing poetry and of course, making jewellery! My interest in jewellery began a few years ago when a friend of mine invited me over for an afternnoon of stringing beads. That's it. It's that simple. Only a few hours and I was hooked. I know find myself stringing beads professionally, operating a website, and appreciating every moment of my adventure.
WHY B-KiND?
The name B-KiND actually originated with my desire to write short poems about kindness that I could then pass out in the form of business cards to people who made the effort to smile and treat people well. I wanted to find a way to let the kind people of this world know how much I appreciated them. Now we all know that the "pass it on" idea is nothing new and takes on many forms such as buttons, coins, stones, etc. but what makes my B-KiND-ness kindness cards (bkindness) original is that they are my words. People seem to forget...or maybe they just aren't aware... that kindness is a choice. We CAN choose the words we speak, we CAN choose our actions/reactions and we CAN choose to B-KiND! I believe that a successful life is a life that is spent treating people well. It is also my opinion that society leads us to believe that we need to have lots of money or have a prestigious job title to make a difference in the world. WRONG. You are probably making a difference already and you simply did not know it. A smile will make a difference, a simple "thank-you" will make a difference, an encouraging word will make a difference, a handshake will make a difference, saying someone's name will make a difference and maybe...just maybe...a B-KiND-ness card will make a difference too.
ABOUT B-KiND Products
B-KiND Products is actually the name of my business and B-KiND Beads is the name of my website . I use the generic term "products" so that I may include my other creative endeavours under one business. In the beginning of the year 2006 I decided to amalgamate my B-KiND-ness cards idea with my desire to make unique jewellery for special people and voila!..B-KiND Products was born. B-KiND Products is a growing business based in the small fishing village of Wheatley, Ontario. Our current staff members include me (the owner), myself (designer/jewellery maker) and I (sales and marketing). However, due to the love and support I receive from my friends and family, I do not consider myself to be the only employee and will continually refer to myself as "we". We make jewellery for friends, family and the public via art & craft shows, word of mouth and this website. Many thanks to everyone who purchases my special jewelry which in turn, allows me to keep on stringing beads!
